'Do you like Shakespeare?'

My student's face twists into a pained question mark: What does she want me to say? (I want him to say yes, of course, but I want him to mean it.)

It breaks my heart when people don't love Shakespeare with every fibre of their being. It makes no sense to me. How can you not love the genius whose every line says five perfect things at once? Who gave us such a vast and beautiful swath of our noble tongue? Who lets us peer into the very heart of humankind? 

In the spirit of this inquiry, I'll be dropping a little Shakespeare knowledge once in awhile. Stay tuned!
